Wilkes enters riding a four-match win streak and a 22-2 overall mark, the most wins in a single season in program history. The Colonels advanced to the second round of the tournament a season ago with a 5-0 win over Grove City before falling to Trinity (TX) 5-0.

Hunter earned the automatic bid by winning the CUNYAC title for the second straight season after going 12-3 overall. This is the second straight tournament appearance for Hunter and its third since 2011. Back in 2011, they were bounced in the first round against Massachusetts Institute of Technology 5-1 and again in 2015 by the same score.

This will mark the first meeting between the two teams in the last eight years. Winner of Friday's match will play the host Middlebury on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
