EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University men's tennis team swept a pair of MAC Freedom matches on Saturday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex posting an 8-1 victory over DeSales University before blanking Delaware Valley University 9-0 in the nightcap.
 
Wilkes improved its overall record to 12-4 and remains unbeaten in MAC Freedom play standing 3-0.
 
In the match against DeSales Wilkes raced out to a 3-0 lead after doubles competition before taking five of six singles flights on way to the victory. Artyom Nabokin (Las Vegas, NV/Danvers), Andrew Neidig (Matamoras, PA/Delaware Valley), Ryan Simon (Mahwah, NJ/De Paul Diocesan), Chris Maderitz (York, PA/Central York) and Gabriel Velez (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) were all singles winners against the Bulldogs.
 
The Colonels then swept all three doubles flights and all six singles matches on way to the 9-0 blanking of DVU in its second match of the day.
 
Wilkes returns to the court Thursday hosting King's College and Lycoming College in a double dual starting at 3:30 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
