Molina and Zick Medal for Wilkes Men's Cross Country at Golden Eagle Invite

BETHPAGE, NY – The Wilkes University men's cross country team placed seventh of 18 teams at the Golden Eagle Invitational hosted by St. Joseph's College – Long Island at the Bethpage State Park on Saturday. Noah Molina (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) and John Zick (Middletown, NY/John S. Burke) earned Top 30 Medals at the 8k event for the Colonels.

The Colonels earned 174 team points from its top five finishers for the seventh place team finish. St. Thomas Aquinas placed first with 54 points. There were 175 runners in the race.

Molina set a season-best 8k mark at 28:19.0 to place 26th overall and pace Wilkes. Zick finished 28th with a career-best time of 28:32.5. Alan Sebastianelli (Archbald, PA/Valley View) also set his career-best time at 29:03.9 to finish 37th. Kevin Singhel (Athens, PA/Athens Area) (47th, 29:38.3) and Jason Montemuro (Jim Thorpe, PA/Jim Thorpe) (59th, 30:17.6) rounded out the scorers for the Colonels.

Colin Ahrensfield (Ashland, PA/North Schuylkill) set his personal-best with a time of 30:22.3 to finish 62nd. Kevin Long (Goshen, NY/Goshen) placed 64th with a time of 30:31.1 and Owen Ebersole (King of Prussia, PA/Upper Merion Area) was 67th with a 30:45.2. Christopher Lombardo (Matawan, NJ/Matawan Regional) set his personal-best with a time of 31:13.4 in 73rd. Brandon Whitman (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) followed in 77th with a time of 31:25.7 and Kaleb Hanson Richart (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Meyers) was 82nd coming in at 31:47.2. Dylan Corriere (Easton, PA/Wilson Area) established his season-best time at 33:03.5 with a 99th place finish. Liam Flynn (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) rounded out the Navy and Gold contingent in 100th with a time of 33:08.7.

The Colonels return to the course next Saturday at the Hood College Invitational in Frederick, Md. at 9:30 a.m.
