Wilkes Men's Cross Country Opens Season with Fourth Place Result
DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University men's cross country team opened its 2019 season on Friday evening at the Misericordia Invitational. The Colonels placed fourth out of seven teams for their best result at the event since 2014.
The five Colonel scorers totaled 123 points for the fourth-place finish in the 5k race at Letterkenny Field.

Owen Ebersole (King of Prussia, PA/Upper Merion Area) paced the Colonels in 19th place out of 88 total runners with a time of 18:52.3. Fellow freshman
Christopher Lombardo (Matawan, NJ/Matawan Regional) was just behind Ebersole in 20th place with a 18:54.5.
Senior
Kevin Singhel (Athens, PA/Athens Area) (24th, 19:24.8), junior
Noah Molina (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) (28th, 19:40.9) and junior
Colin Ahrensfield (Ashland, PA/North Schuylkill) (32nd, 19:57.4) rounded out the scorers for Wilkes.
Senior
Alan Sebastianelli (Archbald, PA/Valley View) placed 35th in 20:05.4 and sophomore
John Zick (Middletown, NY/John S. Burke) was 36th with a time of 20:11.8. Junior
Kevin Long (Goshen, NY/Goshen) finished in 20:26.4, while senior
Jason Montemuro (Jim Thorpe, PA/Jim Thorpe) (20.28.6), sophomore
Brandon Whitman (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) (20:38.3), sophomore
Kaleb Hanson Richart (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Meyers) (20:56.5), freshman

The University of Scranton placed first overall with 30 team points.
The Colonels are back on the course on Sunday, September 15 when they compete at the Queensborough Invitational in Bayside, N.Y. at 10:00 a.m.
