WILKES-BARRE – Wilkes University baseball senior
Alex Halladay (West Chester, PA/Bayard Rustin) is today's focus of the Wilkes Athletics Senior Spotlight Series.
A four-year member of the Colonels baseball squad, his career batting average with the Navy and Gold sits at .393. He went 4-4 in the last doubleheader at Artillery Park against FDU-Florham on 4/27/19, as well as scoring the Colonels first playoff run since 2009 on 5/4/2018. He helped them reach the playoffs with a hit to take the lead against Delaware Valley on 4/22/18 to clinch a playoff spot. He went 8-of-10 while pinch hitting in conference play in 2019. He also hit a walk-off single in his first pinch-hitting appearance in Florida against Houghton on 3/3/17.
He also earned 2019 Spring MAC Academic Roll Honors for his performance in the classroom. His major is Sports Management, and he is accepting a full-time internship with Diamond Kinetics in Aberdeen, Md.
