WILKES-BARRE – Two Wilkes University field hockey student-athletes were named to the 2021 All-Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) Field Hockey Team as announced by the conference office this morning.  Senior Morghan Murphy (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) earned First Team honors, while sophomore Jordan Pugh (Plains, PA/James M. Coughlin) was named Honorable Mention.
 
Murphy earned her second All-MAC Freedom award, earning Second Team honors in her freshman season in 2019.  Murphy was third in the conference with an average of 3.88 shots per game and 1.94 shots on goal per game.  She also finished seventh in the Freedom and led the Colonels with nine goals on the season, including a pair of game-winners.  She also led the squad with 20 points, good for seventh in the MAC Freedom.
 
Pugh's award was her first All-Conference award.  Her first season of play in the Navy and Gold was a strong one.  She anchored a defense that allowed only 3.43 goals per game in conference play and recorded a pair of assists as well.
