Wilkes Men's Cross Country 17th at Dickinson Long-Short Invitational
NEWVILLE, PA – The Wilkes University men's cross country team placed 17th of 21 teams in the 8k race at the 2021 Dickinson Long-Short Invitational at Big Spring High School hosted by Dickinson College. The Colonels placed 13th of 19 teams in the 4k race.

Wilkes scored 195 team points among its top three finishers in the 8k for the 17th place result. There were 141 total runners in the long course event.
First year
Raymond Anderson (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga) placed 70th overall with a time of 30:52.08 to pace the Colonels in his 8k debut for the team. First year
Zachary Spurrier (Frederick, MD/Middletown) placed 85th with a finishing time of 31:37.43. Junior
Brandon Whitman (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) rounded out the scorers for Wilkes with a 106th place finish and a time of 33:13.18.

Dustin Edsall (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) finished 108th with a time of 33:22.64 and junior
Kaleb Hanson-Richart (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Meyers) was 121st, finishing in 35:04.91.
Messiah University and Hagerstown CC each scored 26 team points with Messiah taking the tiebreak of top finisher to place first overall in the long event. Christopher Scharf of Dickinson was first place overall with a 26:06.92.

Ryan Djurkovic (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) placed 59th of 131 runners in the 4k race. His time was 14:28.00. Sophomore
Christopher Lombardo (Matawan, NJ/Matawan Regional) was 81st, with a time of 15:03.44 and first year
Frank Yuscavage (Hanover Township, PA/Hanover Area) was 89th with a time of 15:30.61. The trio earned 155 points for 13th.
The Colonels will return to the course on Saturday, October 9 at the DeSales Invitational in Center Valley, Pa.
