Edwards Places Second; Wilkes Men's Cross Country Third Hosting Blue & Gold Invitational
FORTY FORT – The Wilkes University men's cross country team placed third overall out of eight teams hosting the inaugural Blue & Gold Invitational at the Forty Fort Sports Complex early Friday evening. First year runner
Caleb Edwards (Grahamsville, NY/Tri-Valley Central) finished second overall in the 8k which featured 64 runners from 12 different schools.

The Colonels earned 76 team points from its five runners to place third out of the eight teams that fielded at least five runners. King's College placed first with 35 points and Penn College was second with 69.
Edwards finished second overall with a time of 27:54.20 as he tied for the 12th fastest time for the program since its re-establishment in 2008. Edwards already owns the third fastest time that he set at the Lock Haven Invitational.
Sophomore
Zachary Spurrier (Frederick, MD/Middletown) placed 14th overall with a time of 29:51.70 and he was followed by junior
Dustin Edsall (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) in 22nd with a time of 30:58.90 as he set his personal best 8k time.
First year runner
Isaiah Rogers-Keeney (Middletown, PA/Middletown Area) was 30th, finishing in 32:30.40 and senior
Brandon Whitman (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) rounded out the Colonels runners in the field by placing 32nd with a time of 32:44.20.
Penn State Scranton's Mason Natalini placed first overall with a time of 27:40.70. The top three teams earned a plaque at the inaugural event and the top 20 runners earned an award.
Wilkes returns to the course next Friday at the LVC Last Chance Run Fast at Union Canal Tunnel Park in Lebanon, Pa. at 5:15 p.m.
