Wilkes Men's Cross Country Completes Season at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional
LOCK HAVEN, PA – The Wilkes University men's cross country team finished its competition for the 2022 season at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional, placing 27th of 32 teams at the West Branch Cross Country Course.

Wilkes finished with 783 team points from its five scoring runners in the 8k race that featured 222 runners.
Caleb Edwards (Grahamsville, NY/Tri-Valley Central) was the top finisher for Wilkes as the first-year runner finished with a time of 27:26.7 to place 77th overall. That time was good enough to tie Edwards for the seventh fastest 8k time for the program since 2008. Edwards also set the second, fourth, and fifth fastest times over the course of this season.
Sophomore
Zachary Spurrier (Frederick, MD/Middletown) was next across the finish line for Wilkes with a time of 29:19.6 to place in 150th. Junior
Dustin Edsall (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) finished with a 30:55.6 to place 178th. Senior
Brandon Whitman (Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) was 198th with a time of 32:38.7. First year
Isaiah Rogers-Keeney (Middletown, PA/Middletown Area) rounded out the scorers for the Colonels as he finished with a 33:10.3 in 200th place.
Carnegie Mellon earned the automatic qualifying spot in the NCAA Division III Championships as the team placed first with 22 points. Gavin McElhennon of Johns Hopkins was the individual champion at the regional as he finished the 8k in 25:02.8 to win by just over seven seconds over Carnegie Mellon's Elijah Sech.
