Wilkes Women's Tennis sees Three Advance to 2022 MAC Individual Championship Semifinals
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's tennis team saw three of its members advance to the singles semifinal round of the 2022 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Individual Championship Saturday at the Kirby Park and Ralston Athletic Complex courts. Wilkes also had one doubles team move into the semifinals.

Tea Amerise (Mountain Top, PA/Holy Redeemer) was seeded third in the No. 2 singles bracket and picked up two wins on day one. The sophomore defeated Hannah Sult of York (Pa.) 6-0, 6-3 in the first round and then Michelle Timothy of Albright College 6-4, 6-1 in the quarterfinals. Amerise will face second seeded Stephanie Untermeyer of Stevens Institute of Technology in the semifinals tomorrow.
Cassidy Greenman (Glen Gardner, NJ/Voorhees), the top seed at No. 3 singles, received a bye in the first round and then beat Rei Saar of Lycoming College in a tight 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 match in the quarterfinals. The junior faces Livia Jackson of Lebanon Valley College, the fourth seed, in the semifinals tomorrow.
Sydney Farmer (Lacey Township, NJ/Lacey Township) was seeded fourth at No. 6 singles and received a bye into the quarterfinals. There she defeated Jazmine Arias of Stevenson University 6-1, 6-1 to move into tomorrow's semifinal against No. 1 seed Madison Poladian of Lebanon Valley.

Kaitlyn O'Neil (Jim Thorpe, PA/Jim Thorpe) won two matches to advance to the semifinals of the No. 2 doubles bracket. The fourth-seeded duo defeated Brittany Pancoast and Mercedes Lohmann of Eastern University 8-0 in the first round. In the quarterfinals Amerise and O'Neil beat Hannah Seebold and Emily Wolfgang of Lycoming 8-4. They will face No. 1 seed Lydia Barbour and Hailey Loughlin of Misericordia University in the semifinals tomorrow morning.
Karlee Yuscavage (Hanover Twp., PA/Hanover Area) made her Colonels debut with a first round win in the No. 4 singles bracket. She defeated Lohmann of Eastern 6-0, 6-1. Yuscavage dropped her quarterfinal match to third seeded Meredith Haas of Lebanon Valley.
At No. 5 singles O'Neil defeated Albright's Maddie Show 6-1, 6-1 in the first round. Second seeded Eliana Shenk of Lebanon Valley won the quarterfinal match over the Wilkes junior.
Zoe Klein (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) dropped her first round match in the No. 1 singles bracket to Nicole Honrade of Lebanon Valley.
Klein and Greenman, seeded fourth at No. 1 doubles, defeated Torrienne Emery and Jacquelyn Nesbeth of Stevenson in the first round 8-0. Elsa Ostermarker and Brianna Rohrer of York (Pa.) were able to win a tight quarterfinal match 8-6 to advance.
Yuscavage and Farmer dropped their first round No. 3 doubles match 8-3 to Sarah Lanphear and Emma Kelchner of Lycoming.
Action resumes Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. with the semifinal round of doubles. The semifinals of singles follows that. Then the 2022 MAC Individual Champions will be crowned in the finals of singles and doubles.
