Wilkes Men's Cross Country Competes at First Landmark Conference Championships
HUNTINGDON, PA – The Wilkes University men's cross country team competed at the 2023 Landmark Conference Cross Country Championships hosted by Juniata College Friday morning at the Sunset Golf Course and saw three of its runners finish the 8k.

There were 102 total runners on the hilly course.
Dustin Edsall (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) led the Colonels with a time of 32:25.92 which was his best 8k time of the 2023 season. He placed 81st overall.
Addison Smargiassi (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) was 86th with a time of 33:50.07 and
Isaiah Rogers-Keeney (Middletown, PA/Middletown Area) took 94th with a time of 36:30.50.
Nathan Fletcher (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) and
Justin Ashman (Kutztown, PA/Kutztown Area) completed the first 4k of the race but pulled out of the event with injuries. The Colonels did not record a team placement at the event due to only having three finishers.
The overall champion was Moravian's Nathan Hajel as he finished the race in 26:08.02. Moravian took the team title as well with its five scoring runners recording 37 points. Elizabethtown was second with 48 and Catholic third with 94.
The Colonels close out their season on Saturday, November 11 at the NCAA Regional.
