No. 6 Wilkes Field Hockey Set for Landmark Conference First Round Game at No. 3 Scranton Saturday
WILKES-BARRE – The sixth-seeded Wilkes University field hockey team is set to travel to Scranton, Pa. to face third-seeded the University of Scranton in a Landmark Conference Championships First Round game Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.

The Colonels reached their preseason goal under the guidance of first-year head coach
Ashley Irwin as Wilkes reached the postseason with a 1-0 victory over Drew University in a must-win regular season finale on Wednesday at Schmidt Stadium. The Colonels earned the No. 6 seed with a 4-5 Landmark Conference record this season while going 9-8 overall in the regular season. The nine wins are the most for the program since the 2019 team won 10 times.
Wilkes is led on offense by first year
Morgan Hermanofski (Shickshinny, PA/Northwest Area) as she has recorded 19 points on eight goals and three assists. She ranked in a tie for sixth within the conference with .471 goals-per-game and was ninth with 1.12 points-per-game.
Olivia Gayoski (Forty Fort, PA/Wyoming Valley West) was second on the team with 13 points as she scored six goals and had one assist.
Caitlin Keim (Trevorton, PA/Line Mountain) (3 goals, 4 assists),
Morgan Millard (Bloomsburg, PA/Bloomsburg Area) (2 goals, 6 assists), and
Bridget Rosenfeld (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) (3 goals, 4 assists) all have recorded 10 points this season.
Kellie Scott (Northport, ME/Kents Hill) is third on the team with four goals.
Defensively, goalkeeper
Carly Eidle (East Greenville, PA/Upper Perkiomen) has made 58 saves while recording a 1.97 goals-against-average and a .630 save percentage. Her six shutouts this season are tied for second in the Landmark.
Cortney Keim (Trevorton, PA/Line Mountain) is tied for second in all of Division III with 14 defensive saves this year and has eight more than her closest Landmark Conference rival in the category.
Wilkes ranks fourth in the league in scoring average this season with 2.12 goals-per-game and is fifth defensively allowing 2.00 goals-per-game.
Scranton earned the No. 3 seed in the Landmark Conference Championships after finishing in a three-way tie for first with an 8-1 regular season league record. Through the tiebreaker with Susquehanna and Catholic the Royals were left as the third seed. Scranton holds a 14-3 overall record this season.
Katie Redding leads the conference with 39 points and 16 goals. She is tied for the league lead with seven assists. Bridget Abraldes is tied with Redding with seven assists and is second in the league with 11 goals and 29 points. Annie Shaw (7 goals, 4 assists, 18 points), Reagan Dolan (3 goals, 6 assists, 12 points), and Elle Collins (5 goals, 1 assist, 11 points) add depth to the offense behind Redding and Abraldes.
Gianna Travia is the backstop for the defense as the goalkeeper has recorded 33 saves and a .750 save percentage. She is the Landmark leader with a 0.68 goals-against-average and has five shutouts this season.
Scranton is the conference leader with 3.12 goals-per-game and leads in opponents scoring average allowing only 0.65 goals-per-game.
In the regular season meeting between the Royals and Colonels at Weiss Field on October 11th the two teams were tied 1-1 with seven minutes remaining in the game in the eventual 4-1 win for Scranton.
In the other Landmark Conference First Round Game No. 4 seed Moravian hosts No. 5 seed Elizabethtown at 1:00 p.m. Saturday. No. 1 seed Susquehanna and No. 2 seed Catholic are set to host Semifinal games on Wednesday, November 1.
