Five Wilkes Softball Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-District Distinction from CSC
WILKES-BARRE – Five Wilkes University softball student-athletes were selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2023 Academic All-District Team as announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon. Seniors
AJ Bryfogle (Easton, PA/Easton Area),
Carly Endres (Vineland, NJ/Arthur P. Schalick), and
Nicole O'Rourke (Staten Island, NY/Susan E Wagner) were joined by juniors
Haylee Calaman (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown Area) and
Taylor Douple (Fredericksburg, PA/Northern Lebanon) on the Academic All-District Team.
To be chosen to the Academic All-District Team a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Nominated student-athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's events and pitchers must have at least 10.0 innings pitched. A maximum of five nominations per school were allowed for softball.
All of the Academic All-District Team members are on the ballot to be chosen to the Academic All-America Team which will be released June 6th.
