WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's and women's basketball teams continue their trek through the Landmark Conference schedule this week, getting set to take on Moravian University on Tuesday. The women's team host the Greyhounds at the Marts Center while the men travel to Bethlehem, with both games set to tip off at 7:00 p.m.

Women's Preview
Last time out, the Colonels lost on the road at Susquehanna 65-49, falling to 6-9 overall and 2-6 in Landmark play.

Yamirelis Matos (Springfield, MA/Chicopee) leads the Colonels in scoring averaging 13.5 ppg, the sixth best in the conference. She is followed by Nadia Evanosky (Dallas, PA/Dallas), who is averaging 10.1 ppg. Brenna Babcock (Sweet Valley, PA/Northwest Area) (7.9 ppg), Erin Shober (Reading, PA/Wilson) (6.5 ppg), and Taylor Simpson (Dunmore, PA/Lawrenceville School) (5.0 ppg) round out the team's top five scorers.

Matos also leads the team in rebounds averaging 6.1 rpg, while Shober and Madison Robel (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex) average 6.0 and 5.3 rpg respectively.

Shober continues to be a dominant defensive force under the hoop for the Colonels, leading the team and the conference with 58 blocks, good for second in the nation. Her 3.9 blocks per game average puts her third in the nation and top of the conference. Her seven-block performance against Susquehanna also made her the program leader in career blocks. Matos leads the team in steals averaging 3.1 per game, the second best mark in the conference.

Julia Marino (Washington Township, NJ/Washington Township) has been the best ball distributor for the Colonels, leading the team and placing third in the conference with 3.1 assists per game.

Babcock has been one of the Colonels' most consistent shooters, holding a team-best .484 field goal percentage. Meanwhile, Matos leads the team from beyond the arc with a .315 three-point percentage.

The Colonel defense remains one of the stronger groups in the conference, boasting the second best opponent field goal percentage (.332), the best opponent three-point field goal percentage (.221), and most blocks (6.2 bpg). They also have the fifth-most efficient defense in the conference, allowing only 60.5 ppg.

On offense, Wilkes sits seventh in the conference in scoring offense (55.8 ppg), field goal percentage (.349), and three-point field goal percentage (.247).

Moravian enter this contest on a two-game losing streak, dropping contests to No. 9 University of Scranton and Elizabethtown College. They sit with a 5-10 overall record and a 4-4 record in Landmark play.

Sam Osorio leads the Greyhounds in scoring averaging 11.2 ppg, with Brielle Guarente the other player in double-digit scoring averaging 10.6 ppg.

Osorio leads Moravian in rebounding averaging 8.1 rpg, the fourth best mark in the conference. Reganne Flannery leads the team in assists with 2.9 apg.

Guarente holds the top shooting marks for Moravian with a .429 field goal percentage, while Lizzie Lustig leads from three with a .360 three-point percentage.

Overall, Moravian's offense sits sixth in team field goal percentage (.349), fifth in three-point percentage (.276), and eighth in efficiency (53.5 ppg). Defensively, the Greyhounds are ranked seventh in efficiency (61.7 ppg) and field goal percentage (.376), but rank fourth in opponent three-point percentage at .284.
 
Men's Preview
The Colonels are hot off the heels of an emphatic 87-71 victory at Susquehanna on Friday, helped by Cayden Merrifield's (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) massive 35-point performance. The team improved to 12-3 overall with the win and 5-3 in conference play.

Lucas Lesko (Northampton, PA/Northampton) leads the team in scoring averaging 16.1 points per game, the fourth-best mark in the Landmark Conference. Trent Fisher (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) and Cayden Merrifield (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) are tied as the other two Colonels averaging double-digits with 15.1 ppg each, putting the duo seventh in the conference.

Fisher dominates the stat sheet for the Colonels, leading the team in rebounds (8.8 rpg, third in the conference), assists (3.3 apg, seventh in conference), and field goal percentage (.615, first in the conference).

The Colonel defense continues to be one of the best units in the Landmark, led by Fisher and Lesko with 1.6 and 1.2 blocks per game respectively, the second and fourth best marks in the Landmark. Joey Zvorsky (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff) leads the team with 1.8 steals per game.

As a unit, the defense ranks second in the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.303), while also sitting third in opponent points per game (64.5 ppg allowed) and opponent field goal percentage (.404).
The team sits fourth in scoring offense (74.0 ppg), second in field goal percentage (.464), and fifth in three-point field goal percentage (.323).

Moravian were victorious in their last outing, defeating Scranton at the Palestra 76-56. They hold a 7-8 overall record and 3-5 record in conference play.

Marquis Ratcliff leads the team and the conference in scoring, averaging 22.3 ppg. Porter Kelly, Gary Francis, and Alex Dietz make up the Greyhounds four top scorers, all averaging double-digit points.

Ratcliff also sits at the top of the charts in rebounding averaging 9.6 rpg (first in the conference), as well as field goal percentage at .555 (third in the conference). Michael Leonardo leads the conference and the team in assists, averaging 4.5 apg.

From beyond the arc, Kelly leads the team with a .388 three-point percentage.

As a unit, the Moravian offense sits third in efficiency (78.3 ppg), team field goal percentage (.459), and three-point field goal percentage (.369). Defensively, the group sits sixth in defensive efficiency (74.5 ppg) and opponent three-point percentage (.326), and fourth in opponent field goal percentage (.420).
