Wilkes Men's Cross Country Preps for Conference Championships at Aubrey Shenk Invitational
GETTYSBURG, PA – The Wilkes University men's cross country team prepped for its race at the upcoming Landmark Conference Championships in two weeks competing at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational Saturday afternoon hosted by Gettysburg College.
Wilkes did not score in the team event with three runners participating. Messiah was the first college team finisher with a score of 66 while St. Bonaventure followed at 91. A total of 20 teams competed in the 8k race.
Jack Thompson (Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) ran his top time this season finishing in 16
th place overall at 26:10.8, setting the school record in the 8k in the process.
Aidan Graff (Scranton, PA/Scranton) followed in 50
th place with a time of 26:58.5, the third best time in school history while
Zachary Spurrier (Frederick, MD/Middletown) also recorded a personal best time of 29:20.5 for 150
th place. Connor Anascavage rounded out the Colonel runners with a time of 31:17.5 (193rd place).
The squad will remain idle until the Landmark Conference Championship race scheduled for Saturday, November 2 at 12:00 p.m. hosted by Elizabethtown College.
