WILKES-BARRE – Wilkes University men's and women's basketball only have two games left in the regular season, and prepare to play against the Moravian University Greyhounds in the final midweek contests of the regular season. The men host the 'hounds at the Marts Center while the women travel to Bethlehem for their game. Both tip off at 7:00 p.m.

Men's Preview
The Colonels lost a thrilling overtime game at Elizabethtown in their previous contest 85-82, falling to 17-6 overall and 10-6 in Landmark Conference play.

Lucas Lesko (Northampton, PA/Northampton) leads the team in scoring averaging 16.3 points per game, the fourth-best mark in the Landmark. Trent Fisher (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) and Cayden Merrifield (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) are the other two Colonels averaging double-digits, averaging 15 and 14.7 ppg respectively, putting the duo sixth and eighth in the conference.

Fisher dominates the stat sheet for the Colonels, leading the team in rebounds (9.8 rpg, leads conference), assists (3.3 apg, sixth in the conference), and field goal percentage (.566, second in the conference).

The Colonel defense continues to be one of the premier units in the Landmark, led by Lesko and Fisher with 1.5 and 1.4 blocks per game respectively, the second and third-best averages in the conference. Joey Zvorsky (New Cumberland, PA/Cedar Cliff) leads the team with 1.7 steals per game.

As a unit, the defense ranks second in defensive efficiency (66.1 ppg allowed), opponent field goal percentage (.403), and opponent three-point field goal percentage (.318).

Offensively, the team sits second in field goal percentage (.459), third in offensive efficiency (76.0 ppg), and seventh in three-point field goal percentage (.329).

Moravian come to the Marts Center on a two game winning streak over Scranton and Lycoming. They hold a 9-14 overall record and a 5-11 record against conference opponents.

Sophomore forward Marquis Ratcliff dominates the stat sheet for the Greyhounds, leading the team and the conference in scoring averaging 21.1 ppg. He also leads the team in rebounding (9.7 rpg, second in the conference), field goal percentage (.534, third in the conference) and blocked shots (2.5 bpg, leads conference).

Michael Leonardo leads the team in assists with 3.9 apg, the second-most in the conference, while Porter Kelly leads from beyond the arc with a .366 three-point percentage.

On offense, Moravian ranks fourth in the conference in offensive efficiency (75.0 ppg), field goal percentage (.449), and three-point percentage (.361). Defensively, the Greyhounds rank third in opponent field goal percentage (.420), fifth in defensive efficiency (73.3 ppg allowed), and sixth in opponent three-point percentage (.337).

The Greyhounds have also struggled away from their home court, with a 1-6 road record coming into the Marts Center.
 
Women's Preview
The Colonels are coming off of a 79-61 defeat at Elizabethtown on Saturday, with an 8-15 overall record and a 4-12 record in conference play.

Yamirelis Matos (Springfield, MA/Chicopee) leads the Colonels in scoring averaging 13.0 ppg, the sixth-best in the conference. She is followed by Nadia Evanosky (Dallas, PA/Dallas), who is averaging 8.6 ppg. Brenna Babcock (Sweet Valley, PA/Northwest Area) (8.4 ppg), Erin Shober (Reading, PA/Wilson) (7.5 ppg), and Taylor Simpson (Dunmore, PA/Lawrenceville School) (5.4 ppg) round out the team's top five scorers.

Shober and Matos are tied for the team lead in rebounds, each averaging 6.0 rpg.

Shober continues to be a dominant defensive force under the hoop for the Colonels, setting a new program record for blocks in a single season this year. The senior center leads the team and the conference with 73 blocks, good for a tied sixth place in the nation. Her 3.2 blocks per game average puts her ninth in the nation and top of the conference. Matos leads the team in steals averaging 2.5 per game, the fourth-best mark in the conference.

Julia Marino (Washington Township, NJ/Washington Township) has been the best ball distributor for the Colonels, leading the team and sitting fourth in the conference with 3.1 assists per game.

Babcock has been one of the Colonels' most consistent shooters, holding a team-best .484 field goal percentage. Meanwhile, Matos leads the team from beyond the arc with a .315 three-point percentage.

The Colonel defense boasts the most blocks in the conference (5.61 bpg) and the second-best opponent three-point field goal percentage only allowing .251 percent of shots from beyond the arc. They also hold the fourth-best opponent field goal percentage (.346) and the eighth-most efficient defense in the conference, allowing 64.1 ppg.

On offense, Wilkes sits fifth in the conference in field goal percentage (.359), and seventh in three-point field goal percentage (.252) and scoring efficiency (56.0 ppg).

Moravian enter the game on a five-game losing streak, sitting with a 7-16 overall record and a 6-10 record in conference play.

Sam Osorio leads Moravian in scoring, averaging 11.7 ppg. Brielle Guarente is the other Greyhound with double-digit scoring averaging 10.7 ppg.

Osorio also leads the team in rebounding averaging 8.6 rpg, the fourth-best average in the conference, while Reganne Flannery leads the team in assists with 2.7 apg. Guarente leads the team in field goal percentage at .418, and Julianna Vassallo leads from beyond the arc with a .315 three-point percentage.

Moravian's offense ranks fifth in the conference in three-point percentage (.255), seventh in field goal percentage (.346), and eighth in scoring (54.6 ppg). Defensively, the Greyhounds rank seventh in defensive efficiency (63.7 ppg allowed) and opponent three-point percentage (.288), and rank eighth in opponent field goal percentage (.390).
