12 Wilkes Softball Student-Athletes Named 2023-24 Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar-Athletes
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Twelve Wilkes University softball student-athletes were recognized for their exceptional work in the classroom as they were named All-American Scholar-Athletes by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
To be nominated as a Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better for the 2023-24 academic year.
Kayla Burleson (West Chester, PA/B. Reed Henderson),
Mia Butka (Scranton, PA/West Scranton),
Hayden Calaman (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown Area),
Haylee Calaman (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown Area),
Olivia Dougher (Scranton, PA/West Scranton),
Taylor Douple (Fredericksburg, PA/Northern Lebanon),
Sami Hendershott (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley),
Julia Kapitula (Budd Lake, NJ/Mount Olive),
Megan Marshall (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright),
Hope Mullins (Midland, VA/Liberty),
Bella Peters (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor), and
Evan Sherrick (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) all received the honor.
Burleson, Dougher, Douple, Marshall, Sherrick, and both Calamans have all been named Scholar-Athletes multiple times in their careers, while Butka, Hendershott, Kapitula Mullins and Peters are first-time winners of the award.
The Colonels as a team were also recognized for their team cumulative GPA of 3.5 under head coach Jackie Klahold.
