Five From Wilkes Women's Soccer Earn Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Five student-athletes from the Wilkes women's soccer team have been selected Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators, as announced by the organization Tuesday afternoon.
Senior
Taylor Anthony (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex) and junior
Jess Shea (Somerset, NJ/Franklin) have received Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive season. Sophomores
Grace Alderson (Byram, NJ/Lenape Valley Regional),
Hannah Dennison (Limerick, PA/Spring-Ford), and
Elena Krajain (Lumberton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Regional) join them as first-time recipients.
Anthony finished the season playing in all 18 games with three goals and two assists while earning a 3.62 GPA. Shea shot a .346 on goal with three goals and one assist and earned a 3.74 GPA. Alderson earned a 3.50 GPA while appearing in all 18 games and shooting .333 on goal with one goal. Both Krajain and Dennison had a 4.0 while Krajain led the team in assists with four and one goal, and Dennison had two goals while shooting a .600 on goal.
To be chosen to the 2025 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team a student-athlete had to have been at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), and must have competed in 90 percent of the games or must have started at least 66 percent of the games for their team. Nominations were limited to a maximum of six student-athletes per school.
