Wilkes Women's Tennis Finishes Season with 6-1 Loss at Juniata
HUNTINGDON, PA – The Wilkes University women's tennis team concluded its season with a 6-1 Landmark Conference loss at Juniata College Saturday afternoon.
Wilkes finished the season with an 8-9 overall record, standing 3-6 in league matches narrowly missing the Landmark postseason tournament. Juniata improved to 6-6 overall and 4-5 in conference matches clinching the final seed in the postseason tournament next week.
Juniata began the match sweeping all three doubles flights to take a 1-0 lead.
The Eagles then claimed wins in five-of-six singles flights to secure the victory.
Ava Vacula (Exeter, PA/Wyoming Area Secondary Center) was the lone Colonels winner taking her No. 6 match 8-2.
