No. 1 Wilkes Baseball to Face No. 4 Catholic in First Round of Landmark Tournament
LANCASTER - The No.1 seed Wilkes University baseball team will face No. 4 seed Catholic University in the first round of the Landmark Conference Tournament on Friday, May 9 at Penn Medicine Park in Lancaster, PA. The Colonels will play the Cardinals at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.

The Colonels enter this game with a 28-10 overall record and are 19-5 in conference play, most recently defeating Scranton 7-5 to secure their spot as the No. 1 seed.
Luke Spencer (Lehman, PA/Lake Lehman) leads the Colonel offence with a .346 batting average and seven home runs. Nathan Loch (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) follows with a .338 batting average and sits at 10th in the conference in hits with 50, and is third in the Landmark in runs with 47.
Zack Luksic (Shavertown, PA/Dallas) (.336), Jack Mathis (Exeter PA/Wyoming Area) (.289), and Devin Markert (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) (.275) round out the five top batting averages for the team. Spencer leads the team in RBI's and is second in the conference with 46.
On the mound, the Colonels are second in the conference in pitching, with an overall ERA of 4.51. AJ Levandoski (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) leads with an 8-0 record and an ERA of 3.02, the third best in the conference. Levandoski also sits at third in the conference in strikeouts, totaling 57.
Zachary Lloyd (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) sits at 11th in the conference with a 4.37 ERA and a 6-3 record. Across 55 innings, the sophomore has recorded 39 strikeouts.
The Cardinals will be entering this game with a 24-26 overall record and a 14-10 conference record, having defeated Lycoming 10-3 in the Landmark Tournament opening game on Tuesday.
Steve Thomas leads the Cardinals on offense with a .383 batting average, good for sixth in the conference. Thomas is also ranked second in the conference in hits with 59 and is ranked first in runs with 52.
