TOWSON, Md. – Wilkes field hockey first year forward Maddie Karp (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) was named Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office this afternoon.

This is Karp's first career weekly award and the second in program history since joining the Landmark in 2023.

Karp led Wilkes to two wins in three games last week, scoring 4 goals with 1 assist with 10 shots on goal including an overtime winner against McDaniel College.

The first year opened the week with a two-goal performance against King's College on Wednesday, leading the team with five shots on goal. She followed with another multi-goal game against the Green Terror of McDaniel on Saturday, including the overtime winner, with three shots on goal.

On Sunday, Karp assisted on the Colonels lone goal in a 3-1 loss to DeSales, leading the team for the third consecutive game with two shots on goal.

After a five-game homestand, Karp and the Colonels hit the road to kick off a five-game road trip with a 6:00 p.m. contest at Oneonta on Wednesday, September 17^th.
