TOWSON, Md. - Wilkes men's cross country sophomore Jack Thompson (Hatboro, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) was recognized by the Landmark Conference for his incredible performance at the Lock Haven University Open with Player of the Week honors, as announced by the conference yesterday afternoon. 

It's the second time this season that Thompson has received this award.

Thompson was the leader for the Colonels at Lock Haven on Saturday as he finished fifth overall with a time of 26:50.10 in the 8k race. That was his best of the young season and the fastest time by a Division III runner at the event. That time also marks the fourth best of the sophomore's career.

Thompson and the Colonels return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18 for the Aubrey Shenk Invitational, hosted by Gettysburg College. The race begins at 10 a.m.
