TOWSON, Md. – The Wilkes University baseball team has been selected as the preseason favorite in the 2026 Landmark Conference Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.

The Colonels made their first appearance in the Landmark playoffs in 2025, claiming the top-seed with a 19-5 record in conference play. Third year head coach Mike Guy leads the team into the new season with hopes of playoff success.

Wilkes took the top spot in the poll with 62 points, earning six first-place votes. Defending Landmark Champion Catholic University ranked second with 54 points and two first-place votes. Elizabethtown College was selected third with 51 points and one-first place vote.

The University of Scranton finished fourth in the poll with 45 points, followed by Lycoming College on 37 points to round out the top five. Susquehanna University (30 points), Drew University (21 points), and Moravian University (14 points) finished sixth through eighth respectively, with Juniata College closing the poll in ninth with ten points.

The Colonels begin their 2026 campaign on Saturday, February 21^st as they host Lebanon Valley College at Bruggeworth Field at 12:00 p.m. Landmark competition begins on Saturday, March 14^th as they begin a three-game series at Susquehanna University.
