Savkovic Ranked in First NCAA Regional Women's Tennis Rankings
WILKES-BARRE –
Ana Savkovic (Belgrade, Serbia/The Hoosac School) of the Wilkes University Women's Tennis team has been ranked in Region III in the first NCAA Regional women's tennis rankings of the season, as announced by the organization Thursday.
This is Savkovic's first ranking of her collegiate career, and the first for Wilkes Women's Tennis under head coach
Scott Veith.
The first-year from Belgrade, Serbia has turned heads in her maiden season with a blemish-free record in No. 1 singles play at 16-0. Savkovic has only dropped one set in her past three victories, dating back to April 9
th against Moravian.
Initial NCAA Regional Rankings list the top eight players in the region in alphabetical order by institution. Rankings in order will begin next week.
Savkovic and the Colonels return to the court this Friday, April 17
th as they host FDU-Florham at the Ralston Athletic Complex for their last non-conference contest of the season. Play against the Devils is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
