Wilkes Softball Sees Five Named to 2026 All-Landmark Teams
TOWSON, Md. – Five student-athletes from the Wilkes University softball team have been named to the 2026 All-Landmark Conference teams, as announced by the conference Thursday afternoon.
This matches the most All-Conference selections for the program since joining the Landmark Conference in 2024.
Senior outfielder
Hana Cross (Kendall Park, NJ/South Brunswick) was the lone Colonel on the First Team, her first All-Landmark nod since 2024. She batted .333 in her senior campaign and led the team with a .400 average against Landmark opposition. Her six home runs were the second most in the conference, and 21 RBIs mark the most since her sophomore season. Cross also boasted a .630 slugging percentage and 1.009 OPS, the best and second-best on the team respectively.
Mia Butka (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) has appeared on the All-Landmark team every year of her Colonel career, and this year was no different as she was named to the Second Team at second base and utility. Butka led the team with a .376 batting average, 44 hits, 10 doubles, and 33 RBIs. In the circle, the Scranton, Pa. native went 7-3 with a 2.73 ERA, 37 strikeouts, and one save through 77 innings of work.
Lauren DeMarco (Merrick, NY/Sanford H. Calhoun) also appeared on the second team, marking the third All-Landmark distinction of her career. She led all Colonel pitchers with eight wins, 62 strikeouts, and a 2.20 ERA through 95.1 innings, all numbers that put her in the top ten in the Landmark in their respective categories. This season, DeMarco eclipsed the 300-strikeout milestone, cementing herself third in program history with 301 and counting.
Maddy Maloney (Scranton, PA/Lackawanna College) completes a trio of seniors named All-Landmark for the Colonels, earning her first All-Conference selection as an Honorable Mention at shortstop. Maloney hit .280 on the season, leading the team with eight stolen bases and 16 walks. Defensively, the senior recorded new highs in fielding percentage (.968) and putouts (77).
Rounding out the group is first year
Samantha Petersen (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley), who was named an Honorable Mention at designated player. Petersen batted .313 on the year, a top five mark on the team, with six extra-base hits and 12 RBIs.
