Box Score

Delaware Valley knocked down 12 three-pointers, while Brittney Zimmerman put in 29 points to lead the Aggies to a 75-60 win over Wilkes University.

Over half of the Aggies' field goals came from behind the three-point line as they made 22 field goals the entire game. Delaware Valley was more successful from long-range, making 52.2 percent of their three's, while combining to shoot 37.9 percent for the game.

Zimmerman was one of four Delaware Valley players in double-figures as she drained five three-pointers and hit 7-of-16 shots from the field, dished out four assists and picked up six steals.

Samantha Simcox (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) continued her solid play as she flirted with a triple-double with a 10-point, 14-rebound and five assist performance. Mackensey O'Hara (Otego, N.Y./Unatego) and Sam Lynam (Spinnerstown/Quakertown) led the way for the Lady Colonels with 12 points each.

Delaware Valley (10-9, 4-6) took advantage of Wilkes' miscues, scoring 27 points off turnovers and missed just four of its 23 free throws.

O'Hara gave the Lady Colonels their only lead of the first half after hitting a 10-foot jumper for the first points of the game, but they would not score again until Simcox knocked down a jumper with 14:15 left in the first. Allison Horn (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh), who had to leave the game late in the first half with a facial injury, tied the game at 25 after hitting a pair of free throws with 3:55 to go in the opening stanza. Both teams exchanged buckets the rest of the period before Lynam hit one of her two three-pointers on the day with 1:10 to tie the game at 30.

In the second half, the Aggies used a 16-6 run to pull away with 7:15 to go capped off with a free throw by Zimmerman, giving them a 60-48 advantage. Delaware Valley would keep a double-digit lead all but once the rest of the way, holding the Lady Colonels to five points over the last five minutes of the game.

The loss snapped a two-game win streak and moved Wilkes' record to10-9 overall and 5-6 in Freedom Conference play. They will hit the road Wednesday when they travel to Center Valley to take on DeSales at 6 p.m.
