AT A GLANCE
The Lady Colonels hit the road after a victorious home opener, traveling to Springfield, Massachusetts to participate in the Golden Bear Hoops Classic hosted by Western New England College this weekend. WU will play the hosts on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and then either MIT or Massachusetts College on
Saturday afternoon.

LAST TIME OUT
WU opened its 2010-11 season with a 56-43 win over PSU Hazleton on Monday night at the Marts Center.

The Lady Colonels grabbed a 12-6 lead five minutes in, increasing it to an 11-point advantage with 6:27 to play before going into the half with a 33-23 lead. WU then started the 2nd half with a 16-4 run as they went on to the 13-point victory.

Continuing her season opening hot streak, Sr. G Sam Lynam (Spinnerstown/Quakertown) scored 22 points and added 5 rebounds while Sr. G Brittany Ely (Montrose/Montrose) played 24 minutes off the bench, scoring 10 points and grabbing 7 boards.

THE CAPTAINS
The Lady Colonels will be captained by the trio of Sr. G Brittany Ely (Montrose/Montrose), Sr. G Erin Schneider (Colchester, CT/Holy Name) and Jr. G Whitney Connolly (Liberty, PA/Liberty), the only junior of the group.

Ely brings her all-around game back to the Lady Colonels for her final season, as she has 63 games and 54 starts under her belt. Starting 20 of 25 games a season ago, she was 3rd on the team in minutes with 27.0 mpg.

Schneider, the 2nd senior captain, is also one of the most experienced Lady Colonels. Playing in 61 career games, she has logged nearly 1,000 minutes on the court for Wilkes.

The lone junior for the Lady Colonels, Connolly has played in 49 games at
Wilkes, getting 23 starts a season ago, averaging 27.4 mpg.

WHO'S GONE
The Lady Colonels lose five players from last year's team, including part time starters Lindsey Gosse (Allentown, Pa./Allen) and Lyndsay Ellis (Dallas, Pa./Dallas). Also not back are Morgan Thomas (Nanticoke, Pa./Nanticoke), Morgan Palermo (Drums, Pa./MMI) and Jennifer Rommer (Bainbridge, N.Y./Bainbridge-Guilford).

WHO'S BACK
Wilkes returns seven players from a season ago, including its top two scorers in So. G Megan Kazmerski (Kingston, PA/Holy Redeemer) and Sr. G Sam Lynam (Spinnerstown/Quakertown). Of those seven players, four were regular starters, including Kazmerski, Lynam, Connolly and So. G Amanda Pawlowski (Nanticoke, PA/Holy Redeemer), and accounted for 68.5% of the scoring a year ago.

THE SCORER
Kazmerski led the Lady Colonels in scoring as a freshman last year, netting 11.5 ppg in her 26.6 mpg of action. She opened her career by scoring 14 points in just 15 minutes off the bench against Hazleton. She hit double figures 18 more times during the season, including 18 points in her first start against Misericordia and a season-high 22 at Baptist Bible.

With a 40.7 FG%, Kazmerski went 118-290 from the floor and was also 2nd on the team with 6.6 rpg, including 57 offensive boards (2.3 pg).

HITTING DOUBLE-FIGURES
Lynam has scored in double figures 32 times in her career, including 22 points in the season opener on Monday. She scored a career-high 33 points on 11-23 shooting in 31 m inutes against Arcadia as a sophomore and then later dropped 22 points on 8-13 FGs against Keystone.

She's finished in the top three on the team in scoring each year on campus, leading the team with 11.3 ppg as a sophomore in 2008-09.

QUICK STARTS
Lynam has been been successful in the early season during her time with the Lady Colonels. In the season's first three games, she's averaging 14.1 ppg in just 22.2 mpg, including a career-high 33 points at Arcadia in the first game of her sophomore season.

ALL-AROUND THREAT
One of the most versitile players for the Lady Colonels, Ely was 3rd on the team with 27.0 mpg and 4.5 rpg, Ely scored 4.9 ppg and had 39 assists and 39 steals. The senior also went 30-43 (69.8%) from the foul line.

She scored in double figures four times and had back-to-back games of 10 boards, including a double-double (13 pts, 10 rebs) in 40 minutes against Del Val. She has 120 career assists, including a team-high 63 as a sophomore in 2008-09.

Ely started off the season solid, coming off the bench to score 10 points and grab 7 boards in 24 minutes against PSU Hazleton.

RUNNING THE POINT
A 25-game starter as a freshman last year, Pawlowski returns to the point for the Lady Colonels this season. In her first collegiate game, she scored 6 points, dished out 4 assists and had a season-high 7 steals in 23 minutes in the win over PSU Hazleton.

Pawlowski led Wilkes in assists nine times last season, getting at least 1 in every game. She also added 31 steals, 4th on the team, including 10 games of at least 2 swipes.

FROM THE FOUL LINE
Lynam and Pawlowski were 1st and 2nd on the team in terms of free throw percentage last year, as they combined to hit 81.8% from the charity stripe.

With an 83.9 FT%, Lynam went 26-31 in her 16 games, including a 5-5 game against Cedar Crest. Pawlowski finished the season 37-46 (80.4%), going 11-13 in her final four games.

As a team, the Lady Colonels had a 60.6 FT% (271-447) last year, going 18-22 in the win over Baptist Bible.

GUARD EXPERIENCE
Adding to their experience at the guard spot is Schneider and Connolly, who've combined for 112 career games and 37 starts. Schneider scored 8 points in the season opener, hitting 2 3-pointers while Connolly chipped in with 4 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals.

OFF THE BENCH
So. G Angela Palmerio (Telford, PA/Lansdale Catholic) and So. F Sam Rohn (Levittown/Neshaminy) came off the bench to provide a presence in the lane, combining for 12 rebounds, including 4 offensive. Playing 22 minutes, Palmerio added 6 points, going 2-4 on FG tries while Rohn connected on 1-2 FGs for the Lady Colonels.
