AT A GLANCE
The Lady Colonels return home after playing in the Golden Bear Hoop Classic in Springfield, MA as they host Marywood University on Tuesday night. WU will look for revenge after a 68-63 loss in Scranton to the Pacers last season.

LAST TIME OUT
WU dropped both of its games of the Golden Bear Hoop Classic at Western New England College, falling to the hosts 69-56 before losing to MIT in the consolation game 62-55 on Saturday.

Sr. G Brittany Ely (Montrose/Montrose) posted her 2nd career double double with 12 points and 13 rebounds in the loss to Western New England, as the Lady Colonels were forced to play catchup all afternoon. So. G Angela Palmerio (Telford, PA/Lansdale Catholic) had a career-high 13 points to go along with 5 boards and a block and So. G Megan Kazmerski (Kingston, PA/Holy Redeemer) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals for the Lady Colonels.

The first half of the weekend's second game was back-and-forth, as the score was tied of the lead changed seven times. Taking a tight lead into halftime, MIT hung on in the second half to post the seven-point win. Sr. G Erin Schneider (Colchester, CT/Holy Name) scored a season-high 17 points, going 4-7 from 3-point range, to lead the Lady Colonels. Jr. G Whitney Connolly (Liberty, PA/Liberty) added 12 points and 8 rebounds and So. G Amanda Pawlowski (Nanticoke, PA/Holy Redeemer) dropped 12 more points.

THE CAPTAINS
The Lady Colonels will be captained by the trio of Sr. G Brittany Ely (Montrose/Montrose), Sr. G Erin Schneider (Colchester, CT/Holy Name) and Jr. G Whitney Connolly (Liberty, PA/Liberty), the only junior of the group.

Ely brings her all-around game back to the Lady Colonels for her final season, as she has 63 games and 54 starts under her belt. Starting 20 of 25 games a season ago, she was 3rd on the team in minutes with 27.0 mpg.

Schneider, the 2nd senior captain, is also one of the most experienced Lady Colonels. Playing in 61 career games, she has logged nearly 1,000 minutes on the court for Wilkes.

The lone junior for the Lady Colonels, Connolly has played in 49 games at
Wilkes, getting 23 starts a season ago, averaging 27.4 mpg.

THE SCORER
So. G Megan Kazmerski (Kingston, PA/Holy Redeemer) is off to a slow start this season after leading the Lady Colonels in scoring as a freshman last year, netting 11.5 ppg in her 26.6 mpg of action. Scoring a season-high 12 points against Western New England, Kazmerski has found other ways to help WU, grabbing 7.3 rpg and posting 8 steals so far this season.

Kazmerski opened her career by scoring 14 points in just 15 minutes off the bench against Hazleton last year. She hit double figures 18 more times during the season, including 18 points in her first start against Misericordia and a season-high 22 at Baptist Bible.

With a 40.7 FG%, Kazmerski went 118-290 from the floor and was also 2nd on the team with 6.6 rpg, including 57 offensive boards (2.3 pg).

ALL-AROUND THREAT
One of the most versitile players for the Lady Colonels, Ely is averaging 8.0 ppg and 9.3 rpg while collecting 6 assists and 6 steals. Getting her 2nd career double double against Western New England with 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds, she also added 3 steals and 2 assists for the Lady Colonels.

Last year Ely was 3rd on the team with 27.0 mpg and 4.5 rpg, Ely scored 4.9 ppg and had 39 assists and 39 steals. The senior also went 30-43 (69.8%) from the foul line.

She scored in double figures four times and had back-to-back games of 10 boards, including a double-double (13 pts, 10 rebs) in 40 minutes against Delaware Valley. She has 120 career assists, including a team-high 63 as a sophomore in 2008-09.

HITTING DOUBLE-FIGURES
Sr. G Sam Lynam (Spinnerstown/Quakertown) has scored in double figures 32 times in her career, including 22 points in the season opener last Monday. She scored a career-high 33 points on 11-23 shooting in 31 minutes against Arcadia as a sophomore and then later dropped 22 points on 8-13 FGs against Keystone.

She's finished in the top three on the team in scoring each year on campus, leading the team with 11.3 ppg as a sophomore in 2008-09.

QUICK STARTS
Lynam has been been successful in the early season during her time with the Lady Colonels. In the season's first three games, she's averaging 14.1 ppg in just 22.2 mpg, including a career-high 33 points at Arcadia in the first game of her sophomore season.

RUNNING THE POINT
Running the point again this year is So. G Amanda Pawlowski (Nanticoke, PA/Holy Redeemer), who leads the team with 7 steals and 7 assists and is t-3rd with 8.0 ppg.

Starting 25 games as a freshman last year, Pawlowski debuted game, she scored 6 points, dished out 4 assists and had a season-high 7 steals in 23 minutes in the win over PSU Hazleton.

Pawlowski led Wilkes in assists nine times last season, getting at least 1 in every game. She also added 31 steals, 4th on the team, including 10 games of at least 2 swipes.

FROM THE FOUL LINE
Lynam and Pawlowski were 1st and 2nd on the team in terms of free throw percentage last year, as they combined to hit 81.8% from the charity stripe.

With an 83.9 FT%, Lynam went 26-31 in her 16 games, including a 5-5 game against Cedar Crest. Pawlowski finished the season 37-46 (80.4%), going 11-13 in her final four games. Through three games this season, they are a combined 10-10.

GUARD EXPERIENCE
Adding to their experience at the guard spot is Schneider and Connolly, who've combined for 116 career games and 43 starts. Scoring a season-high 17 points against MIT, Schneider led the Lady Colonels in scoring, going 6-11 on FGs and 4-7 on 3FGs. So far this season Schneider is 2nd on the team with 10.0 ppg and is t-1st with 7 assists.

Connolly also came out with a season-high 12 points against MIT, going 5-12 from the field. She also added 8 rebounds and 2 steals. She's 2nd on the team averaging 31.7 mpg.

OFF THE BENCH
So. G Angela Palmerio (Telford, PA/Lansdale Catholic) and So. F Sam Rohn (Levittown/Neshaminy) have come off the bench to provide a presence in the lane in three games this season. Palmerio tied a career-high with 7 boards in the opener, then followed that up with a career-high 13 points against Western New England. Rohn grabbed 5 boards against PSU Hazleton and scored 4 points with 2 rebounds on Saturday against MIT.
