ELIZABETHTOWN – Sam Lynam (Spinnerstown/Quakertown) scored 22 points as Wilkes University fell to Elizabethtown College 94-57 in non-conference women's basketball action in the opening game of the R1 Sports Blue Jay Classic in Elizabethtown on Friday evening.

The game stood tied at 10-apiece before the Blue Jays went on a 21-8 run to take a 13-point lead with 10:56 left in the first half. The Lady Colonels narrowed it to a seven-point deficit before Elizabethtown took a 54-40 lead into the break.

The Blue Jays came out strong in the second half, scoring 14 unanswered points to take a 68-40 lead before cruising to the 37-point win.

Lynam went 9-14 from the floor, connecting on 2-5 three-pointers and 2-2 free throws. Megan Kazmerski (Kingston, PA/Holy Redeemer) added 12 points while Amanda Pawlowski (Nanticoke, PA/Holy Redeemer) added four points and six boards.

The Lady Colonels (3-6) face The College of New Jersey Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
