AT A GLANCE
WU will look to get its second win in three nights as the Lady Colonels travel to Selinsgrove to take on Susquehanna University on Wednesday night. The Crusaders have beaten the Lady Colonels two straight times, as WU last won in this matchup in 2007 in the Marts Center.

LAST TIME OUT
A 3-pointer by Jr. G Whitney Connolly (Liberty, PA/Liberty) with 1:08 left broke a tie and proved to be the game-winner as WU defeated Baptist Bible 62-59 in Monday night at the Marts Center.

A back and forth battle turned into a big lead for WU as a 3 from So. G Angela Palmerio (Telford, PA/Lansdale Catholic) sparked a 14-6 run, as the Lady Colonels gained a 32-23 lead with 3:24 left in the half. Baptist Bible slowly got back in the game, tying it on several occasions, before Connolly's trey put WU ahead for good.

Connolly was one of four Lady Colonels in double-figures, scoring 12 points. So. G Amanda Pawlowski (Nanticoke, PA/Holy Redeemer) also scored 12, adding 5 boards, while Sr. G Sam Lynam (Spinnerstown/Quakertown) scored 11 and grabbed 7 rebounds and So. G Megan Kazmerski (Kingston, PA/Holy Redeemer) went for 11 and 8.

THE CAPTAINS
The Lady Colonels are captained by the trio of Sr. G Brittany Ely (Montrose/Montrose), Sr. G Erin Schneider (Colchester, CT/Holy Name) and Jr. G Whitney Connolly (Liberty, PA/Liberty), the only junior of the group.

Ely brings her all-around game back to the Lady Colonels for her final season, as she has 63 games and 54 starts under her belt. Starting 20 of 25 games a season ago, she was 3rd on the team in minutes with 27.0 mpg.

Schneider, the 2nd senior captain, is also one of the most experienced Lady Colonels. Playing in 61 career games, she has logged nearly 1,000 minutes on the court for Wilkes.

The lone junior for the Lady Colonels, Connolly has played in 49 games at Wilkes, getting 23 starts a season ago, averaging 27.4 mpg.

HITTING DOUBLE-FIGURES
Sr. G Sam Lynam (Spinnerstown/Quakertown) has scored in double figures 36 times in her career, including 30 last Saturday against FDU and 19 in the Freedom Conference opener at Misericordia. She also netted 22 in the season opening win over PSU Hazleton.

She leads the Lady Colonels in scoring this season with 19.0 ppg, going for double-figures in all five of the games she's played in. Lynam owns a 39.8 FG% (33-83) and is shooting 33.3% from 3 and has hit 18-24 FTs (75.0%).

Lynam's scoring average would put her 5th in the conference, but does not qualify, having not played in 75% of WU's games.

QUICK STARTS
Lynam has been been successful in the early season during her time with the Lady Colonels. In the season's first three games, she's averaging 14.4 ppg in just 22.4 mpg, including a career-high 33 points at Arcadia in the first game of her sophomore season.

ROUNDING OUT HER GAME
So. G Megan Kazmerski (Kingston, PA/Holy Redeemer) is off to a slow start this season after leading the Lady Colonels in scoring as a freshman last year, netting 11.5 ppg in her 26.6 mpg of action.

After averaging 6.5 ppg in the season's first four games, Kazmerski has hit double-figures in each of the past three, averaging 10.3 ppg. She's also found other ways of helping the Lady Colonels, grabbing at least 5 rebounds five times, including 15 total in the last two games.

Through seven games, Kazmerski is 2nd on the team in scoring (8.1 ppg) and rebounding (6.1 rpg) and is 3rd in minutes (31.6 mpg) and assists (11).

PLAYING “D”
In addition to scoring and rebounding, Kazmerski is one of the the Lady Colonels, best defenders, leading the team with 17 steals this season. Her 2.4 spg is t-4th in the conference, as she has 2+ swipes in all seven games this year.

ALL-AROUND THREAT
One of the most versitile players for the Lady Colonels, Ely is averaging 5.6 ppg and a team-leading 7.1 rpg while collecting 12 steals and 12 assists. Getting her 2nd career double double against Western New England with 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds, she also added 3 steals and 2 assists for WU.

Ely has earned five starts this year, getting her 2nd career double-double with 12 points and a career-high 13 boards against Western New England. She's grabbed at least 6 rebounds in six games this year and is 2nd on the team in steals and 3rd in assists.

RUNNING THE POINT
Adding more scoring to her game this year is So. G Amanda Pawlowski (Nanticoke, PA/Holy Redeemer), who is averaging 7.3 ppg this year, up from 4.0 ppg last season. She's hit double-figures twice in six games, scoring 12 against Baptist Bible and MIT, combining for a 57.1 FG% (8-14).

Pawlowski had her best game of the season on Monday against Baptist Bible, going 3-4 from the field and 5-7 from the line, adding 5 boards and 3 assists.

After turning the ball over 6 times with just 2 assists in the season opener, Pawlowski has a 1.4 assist-turnover ratio (11-8) in her last five games, one of the conference's best.

Pawlowski leads WU with a 46.9 FG% (15-32) and is t-1st with 13 assists.

FROM THE FOUL LINE
Lynam and Pawlowski were 1st and 2nd on the team in terms of free throw percentage last year, as they combined to hit 81.8% from the charity stripe.

With an 83.9 FT%, Lynam went 26-31 in her 16 games, including a 5-5 game against Cedar Crest. Pawlowski finished the season 37-46 (80.4%), going 11-13 in her final four games.

So far this season, they are a combined 27-35 (77.1%).

STEPPING UP
Stepping into a more full-time role this year, Schneider has produced, ranking 3rd on the team with 7.6 ppg and t-1st with 13 assists. She's 7th in the Freedom Conference with 1.6 made 3's per game and 11th with a 28.2 3FG% (11-39).

Schneider scored a season-high 17 points against MIT, going 6-11 from the field and 4-7 from 3 in 30 minutes.


GETTING OFFENSIVE
After scoring 5.3 ppg last year, Connolly has started to improve her offensive game, hitting double-figures in scoring three times this year, including each of the past two games. On Monday against Baptist Bible, she tied a season-high with 12 points, connecting of 5-8 FGs and 2-3 3FGSs.

Against MIT, Connolly went 5-12 from the floor and grabbed 8 rebounds, scoring 12.

Through seven games, Connolly is 4th on the team with 7.4 ppg and 3rd with 4.1 rpg, adding 11 assists and 8 steals.

PROVIDING A SPARK
So. G Angela Palmerio (Telford, PA/Lansdale Catholic) has given the Lady Colonels an energy off the bench, scoring 5.7 ppg and grabbing 3.6 rpg. She has proven she can score, netting a career-high 13 points in just 24 minutes against Western New England and has a 39.54 FG% (13-33) and a
40.0 3FG% (6-15).

She also also given the Lady Colonels a rebounding presence, getting at least 4 boards in four of seven games, including 7 in 22 minutes against PSU Hazleton. In her first start of the season, Palmerio had 8 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals against Marywood.

OFF THE BENCH
So. F Sam Rohn (Levittown/Neshaminy) and Fr. G Helen Lawry (Glenville, NY/Burnt Hills - Ballston Lake) have given the Lady Colonels extra minutes off the bench this year, as Rohn averages 12.7 mpg and Lawry 17.5 mpg.

Rohn came off the bench to grab 5 boards against PSU Hazleton and scored 4 points against MIT. Playing in a season-high 22 minutes at Misericordia, Lawry scored 8 points and grabbed 3 rebounds.
