The Wilkes University women's lacrosse team headed to Annville, Pa. on Saturday to take on Lebanon Valley, and after a competitive first half, gave up nine goals in the second period to fall 15-6.

In the first half the two teams exchanged goals for the entire period, as scores by Amanda Tilley (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh), Erica Sundberg (Mullica Hill, N.J./Kingsway HS), Melissa Farrell (Broomall/Marple Newton HS) and Amelia Farnham (Guilford, CN/Guilford HS) kept Wilkes in the contest. Lebanon Valley added one goal at the 1:20 mark to take a 6-5 lead that is relinquished going into the break.

The second half was a completely different story, as the first eight goals of the period were scored by the Dutchmen. It wasn't until the 3:43 mark that the Lady Colonels were able to punch in a score, but it was too little too late as Lebanon Valley cruised to a 16-5 victory.

Tilley ended up with three goals on the day, while Cassie Cronin (Manchester, NH/Manchester Memorial) saved 14 shots for the Lady Colonels. Lebanon Valley got off 40 shots in the game, almost twice as many as Wilkes.

The Lady Colonels will look to bounce back when they host Lycoming College on Wednesday, April 21. That game will begin at 4:00 p.m.
