GRAHAM'S HAT TRICK LEADS WILKES WOMEN'S SOCCER TO 4-1 WIN AT DVC

DOYLESTOWN – Ashley Graham (New Hampton, NY/Minisink Valley) recorded her first career hat trick to lead visiting Wilkes University to a 4-1 Freedom Conference victory at Delaware Valley College Saturday afternoon in women's soccer action.

Wilkes improves to 8-3-3 overall and remains unbeaten at 4-0-2 in Freedom play. DVC drops to 7-6-2 overall and 3-3 in league matches. The win guarantees the Lady Colonels a playoff spot in this year's conference tournament. Seeding will be determined following the final conference games on October 29th.

Graham tallied her first score of the game unassisted at 19:50 to give Wilkes a 1-0 lead. Her second strike of the contest came off a Jana Martin (Lititz, PA/Manheim Central) assist six minutes later giving the Lady Colonels a 2-0 lead.

After DVC cut the lead in half at 2-1 early in the second frame, Alicia Roberts (Hatboro, PA/Upper Moreland) notched her fifth goal of the season thanks to a pass from Megan Clementson (Frederick, MD/Tuscarora) to push the lead back to two goals at 3-1. Graham completed her hat trick with her third of the contest at 67:56 on a penalty kick.

Wilkes outshot DVC 13-10 while each team garnered four corner kicks. Sam Lindo (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) continued her fine play in net finishing with eight saves to record the win. Julie Burnell made eight stops for DVC.

Wilkes will take a break from Freedom play Tuesday with a non-conference road test at Cortland State at 3:00 p.m. The Lady Colonels will then wrap up Freedom play Saturday when they host Eastern University on Senior Day at Ralston Field.
