Wilkes improves to 6-7 overall and records its first Freedom win of 2012 at 1-3. Delaware Valley drops to 6-8 overall and 3-1 in league games. Thompson put Wilkes on the board first scoring her third of the season off an assist from Ashley Hahn at the 8:08 mark. Just before the halftime buzzer sounded, DVC tied the game at 1-1 when Taylor Prichett scored off an assist from Leah Hawthorn. From there it was Thompson who sealed the win for Wilkes when she deflected Shelli Whittington (Elkton, MD/Bohemia Manor)'s shot over the Aggies goalie to give the Lady Colonels their first Freedom victory of the season. Wilkes managed 15 total shots to DVC's 17 attempts. The Lady Colonels collected nine penalty corners to DVC's 12. Alexis Reed (Greenport, NY/Greenport) recorded the win in net making 11 saves, while Sandra Edwards stopped nine Lady Colonel shots. Wilkes returns home Wednesday hosting King's College at 7:00 p.m. at Schmidt Stadium. It will mark senior night where both Lauren Pawling (Columbia, PA/Manheim Central) and Kaitlyn Bevans (Beaver Meadows, PA/Hazleton) will be honored prior to the start of the game as well as guest coaches night for the Lady Colonels.
