ROBERTS PERFORMS IMPRESSIVE HAT TRICK IN 5-0 WIN AT WIDENER

CHESTER, PA – Alicia Roberts (Hatboro, PA/Upper Moreland) scored three goals in a five minute span at the beginning of the second half to send the Wilkes University Lady Colonels soccer team over Widener University 5-0 on Saturday afternoon.

After both teams went scoreless in the first half, Wilkes got on the board early-and-often. Alicia Roberts (Hatboro, PA/Upper Moreland) connected on her first goal of the day and second on the season just 4:46 into the second half. Then, three minutes later, Roberts found the net once again on a dish from classmate Priscilla Bonilla (Fairless Hills, PA/The Pennington School). But, Roberts wasn't finished. Determined, she connected on her third goal of the day just 55 seconds later to compliment an impressive hat trick that took just 4:02 off the clock from first goal to last.

Jana Martin (Lititz, PA/Manheim Central) found the net for her second goal of the season and Haley Adam (Brookeville, MD/Sherwood) scored her first goal of the season just under four minutes to play in the game. For Widener, Valarie Perretti had six saves. Lady Colonel keeper Lisa Semetti (Limerick, PA/Spring-Ford) snagged just one save as Widener only got off four shots.

The Lady Colonels return to the pitch September 22 when they travel to play Arcadia University at 1 p.m.
