The Lady Colonels stand at 10-8 overall and 2-6 in the Freedom Conference while the Aggies improve to 8-11 overall and 2-6 in Freedom play. Trailing by 12 with 3:24 to go in the first half, Brown brought Wilkes back into the game by lacing four shots from the charity stripe. That momentum carried into the second half as Stambone nailed back-to-back layups before giving way to a Brown jumper. With the Colonels down two, the Aggies heated up and went on to score nine straight points and push it back to an 11 point lead. Cara Basile (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) hit two jumpers coming off a Megan Kazmerski (Kingston, PA/Holy Redeemer) helper and a steal of her own at half court. Browns layup on an Ellen Rich (Hamden, CT/Hamden Hall) feed with 9:17 to go got the Lady Colonels to within five with just over nine minutes to play, but that was the closest Wilkes would get. Delaware Valley was led by Brenna Coll who recorded 17 points and 16 rebounds while Emily Soper snagged 14 points and nine boards of her own. Stambone and Brown led the offense with 21 and 10 points while Rich grabbed a team-best nine boards. The Lady Colonels will host Keystone College Monday night in a non-conference tilt. The game will start at 7:00 p.m. in the Marts Center. Print Friendly Version
