Wilkes falls to 1-2 on the year while Marywood improves to 2-0. Wilkes built an 11 point lead midway through the first half and went into the lock room up six, 38-32. The Lady Colonels shot 15-40 (37.50%) from the field and nailed 3-7 (42.86%) three point attempts in the first half. The Lady Colonels relinquished their lead with 9:32 to go in the second half when Nora Joyce hit a three-pointer to put the Pacers up 56-54. The rest of the game was a back-and-forth affair as neither team was able to build a lead greater than five points. Wilkes Chelsea Brown (Garnet Valley, PA/Garnet Valley) tied the game at 73 when she made one of two foul shots with :59 seconds to go. Marywood's Mang was then fouled with four seconds remaining on the clock. She missed her first attempt and made the second to put the Pacers up one. On the ensuing possession, Wilkes was unable to get a shot off and the buzzer sounded with Marywood squeaking out a one point win. Elena Stambone (Jessup, PA/Valley View) led the Lady Colonels with 21 points making 10-of-11 foul shots. Brown played a superb game scoring 19 points and grabbing 13 boards (eight of the offensive variety). The Lady Colonels finished the game shooting 26-71 (36.6%) from the field and 18-34 (52.9%) from the foul line.
