Steve Finkernagel Tyler Sutton ran the 7th fastest 8k time in school history at the NCAA Mideast Regional for Wilkes Wilkes Cross Country Teams Conclude Season at NCAA Mideast Regional 11/15/2014 4:55:00 PM Wilkes Cross Country Teams Conclude Season at NCAA Mideast Regional NEWVILLE, PA -- The 2014 NCAA Division III Cross Country Mideast Regional was completed on Saturday afternoon at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pa. The Wilkes men's runners finished 37th out of 47 teams while the women came in 44th place out of 52 teams. Junior Tyler Sutton (Wyalusing, PA/Wyalusing Valley) was the men's team best finisher finishing in 28:47.4 for 204th place overall. Sutton's time is good for 7th best all-time at Wilkes for an 8K race. Senior Tim Jurkowski (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) finished in 205th place with a time of 28:51.6. Jurkowski ran the 9th fastest 8K in program history. Freshman Jordan Lindley (Hunlock Creek, PA/Lake Lehman) came in 219th place with a time of 29:06.2. Junior Forest Hawkins (Ashley, PA/Hanover) ran a time of 29:28.2, junior Martin Tolbert (York, PA/William Penn) finished with a time of 29:39.8, Brian McKenna (Hillsdale, NJ/Pascack Valley) ran a 30:03.7 in his first Mideast Regional and Tyler Layton (Endicott, NY/Main Endwell) rounded out the men's team with a race time of 30:57.6. On the women's side sophomore Rachel Quinn (Goshen, NY/Goshen) was the best runner with a time of 26:13.5 good for 220th place overall. Sophomore Tracey Hilker (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) finished in 222nd running a 26:14.3 6K. Senior Christine Klingel (Kunkletown, PA/Pleasant Valley) ran a 26:39.2 good for 241st place. Freshman Regan Murphy (Plainfield, PA/Pen Argyl) ran a 27:03.5 in her first NCAA Mideast Regional. Moriah Teed (Newark Valley, NY/Newark Valley) ran a 28:36.5, Sarah Fillman (Limerick, PA/Spring Ford) a 28:54.1 and Carmen Hillman (Urbana, OH/Graham School) concluded the women's results with a time of 29:35.4.
