DOYLESTOWN, PA – Host Delaware Valley College opened up a 19-point halftime lead on way to a 70-43 victory over visiting Wilkes University Saturday afternoon in Freedom Conference play.
 
Wilkes currently sits 4-14 overall on the year with a 1-7 record in Freedom play having lost its last three games. Delaware Valley improves to 12-7 overall (5-3 Freedom), ending a two-game losing streak of their own. The Aggies remain undefeated at home this season.
 
The Lady Colonels trailed from the opening tip coming to within one at 6-5 at the 15:33 mark in the first half. From there, Delaware Valley went on a 22-6 run to pull away comfortably taking a 34-15 lead into the halftime break. .
 
Wilkes continued to trail in the second frame as the cold shooting continued to plague the Lady Colonels. At the 10:12 mark of the second half, Wilkes doubled their first half total and brought the score to 47-31.
 
It was all Delaware Valley from there, as the Aggies scored 26 points and held the Lady Colonels to just nine points in the final 10 minutes of the game, resulting in a 73-40 victory.
 
Brown led the Lady Colonels with a team-high 11 points and six rebounds. Edwards followed with seven points on 3-for-7 shooting adding five rebounds. Stambone and Cara Basile (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) each ended the game with six points a piece.
 
Wilkes struggled shooting from the floor all afternoon finishing 14-for-69 (20.3 percent) from the field, 1-for11 (9.1 percent) from deep, and 11-for-23 from the charity stripe.
 
Delware Valley had three players go for double-figures, with Brenna Coll scoring a game-high 16 points. Eireann Anastasi added 12 points, while Shannon Barlow contributed 10 points. Coll recorded her fifth double-double on the year, adding 11 rebounds to her 16 tallies.
 
Wilkes returns to Freedom play Wednesday continuing its road stretch at local rival Misericordia University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Dallas, Pa.
