Balbuena Breaks 8k Mark as Wilkes Men's Cross Country Compete in Border Clash Invitational
GLASSBORO, NJ –
Franco Balbuena (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Coughlin) broke his own record smashing the previous school record by over a minute as the Wilkes University Men's Cross Country team finished 39
th of 43 teams at the Rowan Border Clash Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Wilkes finished with 1221 total team points in the 8k race with 383 combined runners.
Balbuena shaved over a minute off his previous school mark finishing in 142
nd place with a time of 25:40.
Nicholas Moullette (Pompton Lakes, NJ/Pompton Lakes) followed with his personal-best time of 28:00 for 259
th place and the fourth fastest time in school history.
Kevin Singhel (Athens, PA/Athens Area) finished in 264
th place with a time of 28:20, the eighth fastest time in school history.
Kendrick Schell (Northampton, PA/Northampton) came in at 29:35 for 277
th place while
Alan Sebastianelli (Archbald, PA/Valley View) crossed the line at 29:53 for 279
th place.
Jason Montemuro (Jim Thorpe, PA/Jim Thorpe) (282
nd/30:47) and
Brandon Ver-Non (Peckville, PA/Valley View) (286
th/31:45) rounded out the Colonel finishers at the event.
Wilkes returns to the course Friday competing in the LVC Last Chance Run hosted by Lebanon Valley College at 4:30 p.m.
