EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's tennis team concluded its 2016 fall schedule with a 9-0 sweep of Marywood University Tuesday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
 
Wilkes finishes its fall campaign with a perfect 6-0 record while Marywood enters the CSAC tournament with a 12-3 later this week.
 
Wilkes went 3-0 in doubles play allowing just four games throughout pairs competition. The Lady Colonels then received singles wins from Kendra Croker (Old Forge, PA/Scranton Prep), Francesca Varela-Seri (Stewartsville, NJ/Phillipsburg), Madison Salmon (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott), Taylor Hoffmann (Huntingdon Valley, PA/Lower Moreland), and Grace Graham (Rockville Centre, NY/Sacred Heart Academy) in straight sets. Jordan Vasarkovy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) took her match by injury default at the No. 1 spot.
 
Wilkes remains idle though the winter before beginning its spring season at its annual spring break trip in Hilton Head Island, SC in early March 2017.
