EDWARDSVILLE – Wilkes University scored wins in two of three doubles flights before Troy Haas (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) clinched the match in singles play as the Colonels posted a 5-4 win over visiting SUNY Oneonta on Wednesday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
 
Wilkes remains unbeaten at 4-0 on the year following the victory while Oneonta drops to 1-2 overall.
 
Leading 2-1 with wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles, Wilkes received wins at No. 1, 2 and 6 singles to seal the match. Courtney Murphy (Bronx, NY/Christopher Columbus) won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 followed by a 6-3, 6-1 win by Artyom Nabokin (Danvers, MA/Danvers) at No. 2. Haas then clinched the match with a 6-1, 7-6 decision at No. 6.
 
Wilkes is set to host the 2016 MAC Individual Tournament Saturday and Sunday at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
