This marks the second year in a row that the Lady Colonels and Bulldogs will meet in the MAC Freedom tournament. On November 7th of last year, Wilkes traveled to Center Valley to take on DeSales in the MAC Freedom championship, a game won by the Bulldogs 2-1.

On October 22nd of this season, the Lady Colonels defeated DeSales at Schmidt Stadium by a 1-0 final. Senior Caroline Connor (Penfield, NY/Penfield) provided the game-winner in the 70th minute and senior goalkeeper Alyssa Young (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) made four saves in what would be the second of four consecutive shutouts to end the regular season.

Wilkes enters the semifinal matchup with a 7-10-0 overall record, 5-2-0 in MAC Freedom play. Junior Dianna Connor (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) (five goals) and sophomore Nicolette Towlen (Ewing, NJ/Ewing) (three goals, four assists) are the leaders on offense for the Lady Colonels with 10 points each.

Young anchors Wilkes' defense, finishing the regular season with a 7-6-0 record. She has made 44 saves with a 1.14 goals against average, .772 save percentage, and five shutouts on the season.

DeSales finished its regular season 8-9-0 overall, 4-3-0 in MAC Freedom play and on a three-game slide, its last victory a 2-0 win at Delaware Valley on October 15th. The Bulldogs are led by junior Angelica Bertola, who leads the MAC Freedom with 16 goals and 38 points. Her six assists are tied for third.

The Bulldogs have used a goalkeeper tandem this season. Senior Emily Hoats is 4-5-0 on the season, making 18 saves with a 1.57 goals against average, a .600 save percentage, and one shutout. Sophomore Haley Jacobs sports a 4-4-0 record and has made 23 saves with a 1.45 goals against average, a .639 save percentage, and two shutouts.
