HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – The Wilkes University women's tennis team dropped its spring break finale on Thursday morning falling 6-3 against Berry College.
 
With the loss Wilkes falls to 10-1 overall on the year while Berry improves to 4-1 on the young season.
 
Berry led 2-1 after doubles play with the lone Wilkes pairs win coming at No. 3 when Madison Salmon (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) and Olivia Hewison (Port Crane, NY/Chenango Valley) scored a 9-7 victory.
 
Salmon then added a win at No. 5 singles and Grace Graham (Rockville Centre, NY/Sacred Heart Academy) a victory at No. 6 singles, both in straight sets, but Berry took the first four matches in singles play to secure the 6-3 decision.
 
Wilkes returns home for a road match on March 16 at Division II Bloomsburg University at 4:00 p.m.
