ST. DAVIDS, PA – The Wilkes University women's tennis team scored a 9-0 victory over host Eastern University Saturday afternoon in a MAC Freedom match.
 
Wilkes improves to 14-2 overall and 1-0 in league matches following the road victory,
 
Wilkes took wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to go ahead 2-1 after doubles play.
 
The Lady Colonels then swept all six singles flights to post the 8-1 conference opening win. Kendra Croker (Old Forge, PA/Scranton Prep), Jordan Vasarkovy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North), Taylor Hoffmann (Huntingdon Valley, PA/Lower Moreland), Madison Salmon (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott), Erin Volutza (Sinking Spring, PA/Lancaster Catholic) and Grace Graham (Rockville Centre, NY/Sacred Heart Academy) were all straight set winners for Wilkes in singles competition.
 
Wilkes returns to MAC Freedom play Friday at 3:00 p.m. with a match at Misericordia University in Dallas, Pa.
