EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's tennis team opened its 2016-17 fall season with a pair of wins posting a 9-0 victory over Lycoming College before claiming an 8-0 win over Albright College Saturday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
 
Wilkes improves to 2-0 on the young season following the two wins.
 
Wilkes went a perfect 3-0 in doubles play against Lycoming before sweeping all six singles flights in straight set fashion. In the 8-0 win over Albright, another 3-0 doubles performance followed by five of six singles flights in straight sets sealed the non-league victory.
 
Wilkes returns to the courts tomorrow (Sunday) hosting the University of Scranton at 11:00 a.m. and Penn College at 3:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
