EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's tennis team rolled to a perfect 4-0 record after posting a pair of wins for the second straight day on Sunday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
 
Wilkes posted a 9-0 sweep of the University of Scranton before cruising to another 9-0 shutout over Penn College later in the day.
 
Wilkes went 6-0 in straight sets of singles play against local rival Scranton with wins from Jordan Vasarkovy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) and Kendra Croker (Old Forge, PA/Scranton Prep) at No. 1 and 2. In doubles play, the duo teamed for an 8-3 victory at No. 1 to lead a 3-0 pairs performance for the Lady Colonels.
 
Madison Salmon (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) paced Wilkes split squad in the second match of the day against Penn College claiming wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in the match.
 
Wilkes remains idle until September 20 when the Lady Colonels travel to Allentown, Pa. for a non-conference match at Muhlenberg College starting at 5:00 p.m.
