Wilkes Men's Tennis Finishes Day Two of ITA Regionals
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Wilkes University men's tennis team finished the second day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southeast Regional hosted by the University of Mary Washington on Sunday afternoon.
Tawhid Choudhury (Holliswood, NY/The Ogburn School) was defeated in the quarterfinals of the B2 singles bracket by Salisbury's Kelson Weber 7-6 (7-6 [4]), 6-2.
In championship singles,
Courtney Murphy (Bronx, NY/Christopher Columbus) fell to Revanth Boppana of Carnegie Mellon 6-2, 6-3 in his quarterfinal match.
In the championship consolation bracket,
Artyom Nabokin (Las Vegas, NV/Danvers) was defeated by Vishnu Joshi of Johns Hopkins 6-1, 6-2.
In B2 singles consolation,
Jonathan White (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) defeated Michael Lukas of Washington and Lee before taking care of Christopher Newport's Mitch Brody 6-2, 6-4 to win the consolation bracket.
The Colonels return to the court on Saturday, October 21
st for day one of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Individual Tournament.
