SCRANTON, PA – The Wilkes University women's tennis team scored an 8-1 victory over host the University of Scranton Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action.
 
Wilkes moved to 3-0 on the fall season with the road win.
 
Wilkes went 3-0 through doubles play picking up wins of 8-4 at No. 1 doubles, 8-5 at No. 2 doubles and 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.
 
In singles play, Jordan Vasarkovy (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) scored a 6-4, retired win at No. 1 before Francesca Varela-Seri (Stewartsville, NJ/Phillipsburg) won 6-1, 6-5 at No. 2. Dana Saliyev (Jamison, PA/Central Bucks South) went 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 and Laura Zielinski (Mt. Wolf, PA/Northeastern) posted a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 4. Brittany Stanton (Mountaintop, PA/Crestwood) rounded out the Lady Colonels singles winners with a 6-4, 6-6 (7-2) decision at No. 5.
 
Wilkes returns to the court on October 14-15 hosting the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Tournament at the Ralston Athletic Complex and Kirby Park Courts.
