HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – The Wilkes University men's tennis team split a pair of matches Tuesday posting a 9-0 blanking of Albion College before falling 7-2 against North Carolina Wesleyan College.
 
Wilkes moved to 5-2 overall in dual match play following the split.
 
In the in against Albion, Wilkes changed up the lineup as Artyom Nabokin (Las Vegas, NV/Danvers) recorded a win at the top spot 6-1, 3-4, retired. Troy Haas (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) moved up to No. 2 winning 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). Braddock Chow (Glen Cove, NY/Glen Cove) secured a straight set 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 while Andrew Neidig (Matamoras, PA/Delaware Valley), Chris Maderitz (York, PA/Central York) and Gabriel Velez (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) all followed suit with straight set victories at No. 4 through 6.
 
Wilkes swept doubles play with each Colonel duo winning 8-3.
 
After falling behind 3-0 in doubles play to North Carolina Wesleyan, Courtney Murphy (Bronx, NY/Christopher Columbus) and Nabokin were the lone singles winners for Wilkes at No. 1 and 2. Murphy took his match 6-3, 6-3 while Nabokin won 2-6, 6-3, 10-8.
 
Wilkes is idle tomorrow before returning to the court Thursday concluding its trip with matches against St. John Fisher at 8:30 a.m. and Mount Union at 6:00 p.m.
