Wilkes Women's Tennis Still Unbeaten with 6-3 Win at Dickinson
CARLISLE, PA – The Wilkes University women's tennis team continued its best start in school history scoring a 6-3 victory at Dickinson College Monday afternoon in a non-conference matchup.
Wilkes moved to 18-0 overall following the non-league match win.
Dickinson jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles play with the lone Wilkes pairs win coming at No. 3 when
Taylor Hoffmann (Huntingdon Valley, PA/Lower Moreland) and
Madison Salmon (Endicott, NY/Union Endicott) scored an 8-0 win.
The Lady Colonels then answered back in singles play winning five if six flights to clinch the match. Wilkes singles winners included
Kendra Croker (Old Forge, PA/Scranton Prep),
Francesca Varela-Seri (Stewartsville, NJ/Phillipsburg), Hoffmann, Salmon and
Erin Volutza (Sinking Spring, PA/Lancaster Catholic).
Wilkes has a quick turnaround getting back into MAC Freedom play Wednesday when the Lady Colonels travel to cross-town rival King's College at 3:30 p.m.
